Wound Care With Raw Coconut Oil
A treatment as old as the Bible, with a new twist!
In the story of the Good Samaritan, he poured Wine and fresh raw Olive Oil on the injured man's open wounds before bandaging them up.
The story doesn't say how well the treatment worked, so it left it up to me to find out if this is a workable treatment for wounds today.
I got my chance recently when my wife received a nasty bite to her left ring finger by one of the Adult Squirrels in our Rehabilitation Facility. I offered to take her to the hospital, but she opted to try this ancient treatment instead. To save time, I'm going to show you a series of pictures that covered the one week of treatment.
( Please forgive the fuzziness of the pictures, my camera doesn't take good close-ups!)
Above, is the wound after one day. Although it appears raw and slightly bruised, there is no sign of infection, pus or drainage even though the squirrel's lower incisors, 3/4 inches long, went clear to the bone. As an ER Nurse, with 35 years of experience, I can tell you that a deep bite is the most likely of wounds to get infected!
Above, is the wound on the third day after applying a gauze soaked in Raw Coconut Oil twice a day with a pressure dressing wrap. Notice that there is still no sign of infection. It was at this point, we started soaking the finger in warm Raw Coconut Oil 3 times a day.(See below)
I just went out to the backyard to find my wife to get a picture of her finger today. It's been 12 days since she received the wound. As you can see below, the finger is completely healed. I would have taken her to the doctor at the first sign of infection, but, it never happened!
I am absolutely amazed at the results!
